Japanese Kyoyaki plate from the end of the Meiji era (1890-1912), fully decorated in underglaze colors - blue, red, green and yellow. This technique (underglaze colors other than blue) was quite new in Japan at the time, as it was only introduced there by Gottfried Wagener, a German chemist, at the end of the 19th century. Signed "Kachutei Dohachi sei".
