Stunning Lion of St. Mark in Pink Marble Perlino, completely worked and carved by hand, a wonderful representation of the Serenissima in bas-relief from Venice. Provenance Venice, private collection. Unquestionable the exceptional quality and incomparable workmanship of the sculpture. The details are represented with absolute precision and mastery, a meticulous work that has led to define and complete the work in an extraordinary way. An added value is the type of marble used, which in this work has a veining out of the ordinary, so much so that emits in some places different shades of color an effect that enchants just looking at it. Beautiful the mane of the lion, as well as the wings, the gospel has engraved the classic Latin phrase that translated means "Peace to you, Mark, my Evangelist". Overall, it is well-proportioned in size, not excessive in weight. Phenomenal if hung on the wall, with the use of some irons (preferably old ones), but it can also stand comfortably on top of a hard surface and leaning against it. In this case it is on top of a sturdy brass tripod that is available for sale separately if interested. In conclusion, it is a lot never presented and seen before, a Marble Favor, refined and elegant but at the same time powerful, muscular and proud. It is presented in perfect condition, completely intact in all its parts. In case of shipment will be shipped with sturdy wooden crate, with appropriate and suitable packaging.
