Exclusive Altorilievo in Biancone of Asiago marble, depicting the Lion of St. Mark with the book closed and the sword. Work of Venetian origin, private collection. Work obtained and carved from a single block of marble. There are many possible symbolic interpretations regarding the combination of lion and book, in this case, the closed book with the sword represents the period of war. However, these interpretations are not universally accepted because the Serenissima never codified its symbols represented in a unique way. Lot more unique than rare, of extraordinary workmanship and incomparable and indisputable quality. Never presented before and unique in the world, probably executed on commission. The sculpture is in high relief, as it is well evident from the photos the lion seems almost to go out from the base. To underline, in spite of the dimensions, the quality of the anatomy of the Lion, the care and the precision of the details. Elegant and refined, but at the same time powerful and muscular. Of prestigious and noble workmanship. Medium / large size, the weight is consistent. perfectly proportioned. Excellent if hung on the wall, can stand both inside and outside. Is in excellent condition, intact. It will be possible to ship it with wooden crate properly packed. Available also the vision and the withdrawal on site.
