A ships chest. Wide 90 cm. High 32 cm. Maximal floor size 38 cm. The flaring shape is typical for a Dutch ships chest. Painted in front with a rural scene featuring a house, a man crossing a bridge and a pond with two swans. The paintwork is in very good condition without restaurations. The chest still has its original key operated lock and the two original hinges. On both front and back the chest is fortified with forged iron decorations. A chest of this quality and conservation is extremely rare. Low Countries around 1750.

An early seventeenth century ointment jar marked

An early seventeenth century ointment jar marked "Paris" and found in an excavation in Amsterdam in 1962.


An ointment jar. High 4,5 cm. Diameter 4,5 cm. On the jar a text: " Chardin Hajaureu 1 P.f.m. Pont St.Michel Paris ". This jar was, according to an attached label, found at an early seventeenth century excavation site near the "Rechtboomssloot" in Amsterdam along with several white Delft jars in 1962. The jar is, considering its age, in a remarkably good condition. i

Two pair of candlesticks. Height 8 and 9 cm. Brass. Both candlesticks can be unscrewed from the foot. This makes transportation easier. Hence these are called "travelling" candlesticks. Both in mint condition. Holland, nineteenth century.

An angel. Overall height 18 cm. The angel with two wings, carries a torch. Well sculptured from beechwood and vividly painted. Probably from a nativity scene. Made in Zeeland around 1750. In good general condition with signs of age.

A glass. High 10,5 cm. Upper diameter 9,5 cm. Diameter foot 5 cm. Clear soda glass with many airbubbles and irregularities. Folded rim and a clear unpolished pontil. Mint condition. Zeeland 18th century.

An extremely rare early seventeenth century drop leaf table from Hindeloopen.


A drop leaf table. Overall height with leaf upright : 110 cm. Height with leaf horizontal 66 cm. Diameter of the twelve sided drop leaf 77 cm. On the decorated side a winter landscape with a scene of two children in trouble because of immersion in a hole in the ice, being rescued by four men handling a ladder. On the other side the leaf is painted green with a "faux bois" border. The presence of a non biblical scene is very unusual. Futhermore all typical Hindeloopen decorations are present: birds, angels, flowers, notably tulips, cherries and their blossoms. The table is in excellent condition with signs of use. Hindeloopen around 1600.

Two scrapers. Long 15 and 17 cm. Wide 4 and 5 cm. Both made of steel with brass fittings. One marked: "BURNEY A BRUXELLES" and the other: "A.RENOTTE GAND". These scrapers were used to prepare hides for th production of leather. Both in mint condition. Flanders around 1850.

A fork. Overall length 22 cm. Length of handle 11 cm. The metal fork barbed and with a bone handle. This fork was used to pick up pickles and the like. It is in mint condition and was made and used in Zeeland around 1850.

A faucet. Long 10 cm. High 6 cm. Entirely made of pewter. With a well preserved two centimeter long screw in end. Most probably from a beer vessel or else from a water spout. The irregularity of the screw thread suggests it was filed by hand. This and the patina points to an early seventeenth century origin. Despite its age, the faucet is in mint condition. Dutch around 1700.
