A bedstool. Long 84 cm. Wide 26 cm. High 40 cm. Painted red, green and gold. Elegant open front. This type of stool was used to climb into bed. It is in mint condition and was made in Friesland around 1750.

A farriers shop sign. High 70 cm. Wide 57 cm. Thick 5 cm. Shaped as a large horse shoe. Painted in an attractive blue colour. With original hand forged wrought iron hanging hook. From a farrier in a Dutch provincial town. In very good condition considering its age and exposure to the elements. Holland, eighteenth century.

A miniature bed step. High 27 cm. Wide 15,5 cm. Deep 15 cm. Entirely painted in the Hindeloopen style. With on both sides a very delicately painted parrot. Furthermore many flowers and typical Hindelooper "guirlandes". In mint condition with an old repair to the foot on the left. Made in Hindeloopen around 1750.  Miniature Hindeloopen furniture of this quality and age is extremely rare.

A three dimensional diorama in wood. Wide 19,5 cm. High 12,5 cm. Deep 6 cm. Made by Cornelis Bavelaar the Younger (1777-1831) in Leiden. Museum "De Lakenhal" in Leiden has a large collection of diorama's by Cornelis Bavelaar. This very unusual bavelaar shows a tremendous household skirmish with a father beating with a stick and a mother with a bowl of rubbish and damaged furniture all over the place. The dog likes it very much, which does not go for the children. The bavelaar is in pristine condition. On the back an old description of bavelaars in general.

An 18th century cold enamel painted Bohemian glass made for the Dutch marked and inscribed "HOLLAND 17-61".


A Bohemian glass. High 8 cm. Upper diameter 5,5 cm. Diameter foot 4,5 cm. Cold enamel painted with the text "HOLLAND 17-61". And on the other side a coat of arms with a crowned Dutch lion. Apparently this glass was made for the Dutch market. Mint condition. With a clear and unpolished pontil.  An extremely rare find.

A shop sign. Wide 70 cm. High 31 cm. With in gold paint the text: " G.Rüter & Zoon. Smeden en Slotenmakers" (Blacksmiths and Lockmakers). This firm started in the middle of the nineteenth century and existed until 1936 in Amsterdam in the Kerkstraat number 414. The wooden board is in good general condition with signs of use and some small damages.
