Hutton-Clarke Antiques is pleased to offer this attractive pair of French free-standing tables in satin birch, dating to circa 1900. Of elegant proportion, each table is finished on all sides, allowing them to be placed centrally within a room.

The design features shaped tops above a frieze with carved floral decoration, raised on cabriole legs with scrolling feet and united by a lower-tier shelf. The satin birch has developed a warm golden colour with a pleasing patina.

A versatile pair that can be used as side tables, lamp tables, or occasional tables in both traditional and eclectic interiors.

Of classical form, they feature elegant scroll arms terminating in finely cast gilt-bronze mounts, with additional mounts to the seat rails and lion paw feet. The chairs retain their original rich patina and show quality craftsmanship typical of the period.

Still upholstered in their original faded silk damask, they are now in need of re-upholstery, which presents an excellent opportunity to bring them back to their full splendour: a stylish and well-proportioned pair, ideal for a refined interior.
