A rare and decorative early 19th-century mahogany torchère, later converted to a standard lamp. The column is finely carved with elongated lotus leaves and moulded roundels, rising from a triform base with bold gilt paw feet and a central carved motif to the upright. The rich mahogany surface has developed a deep patina, beautifully offset by the original parcel gilding to the base.

A striking and elegant lamp that showcases refined Georgian design with excellent decorative presence.

A fine George III Chippendale period hanging wall shelf in mahogany, dating to around 1770. The piece features an open fretwork design to the sides with classic Gothic lattice panels and a shaped apron below the top shelf. The lower section is fitted with a row of five small drawers, each with original brass axe handles and outlined in a finely carved rope moulding, typical of mid-18th-century craftsmanship. Outer edges have a foliate carved border. The best Cuban mahogany has developed a rich, warm patina, enhancing its elegant proportions and timeless appeal.

A handsome Regency period oak wine cooler in the classical sarcophagus form, inspired by ancient Egyptian tomb designs popular in the early 19th century. Constructed in solid oak with well-defined panelled sides and moulded edges, it retains its original heavy lead lining, complete witha  drain plug. Originally made for cooling wine bottles, this versatile piece also makes an impressive log bin or planter. Beautifully patinated with rich colour and grain, displaying the refined yet robust craftsmanship typical of the Regency period.

Originally inspired by 18th-century designs, girandole mirrors were often made to carry candle arms, giving extra sparkle and atmosphere to a room.With their aged gilt finish and pleasing patina, this pair are full of character and charm. Hutton-Clarke Antiques is pleased to offer for sale a striking Victorian pine chest with later maritime paintwork. Dating from the mid to late 19th century, this chest has been enhanced with bold decorative naval motifs, making it a unique and eye-catching piece.

The front is painted with a large central roundel depicting a full-rigged ship beneath crossed Union flags, encircled with a laurel wreath and topped with an anchor. It bears the inscription “Capt. Wm. Somers – H.M.S. Leopard”, while the top is adorned with a scrolling ribbon reading “Queen & Country” over the initials R.N. (Royal Navy). Decorative gilded flourishes and rope-edge borders complete the design, with original turned knob handles highlighted in red.

An elegant early 19th-century Regency mahogany sarcophagus-form wine cellarette, offered by Hutton-Clarke Antiques. Of bold architectural design, the hinged lid is raised with a stepped and panelled top, opening to reveal a clean renovated interior for bottles. The tapering sides are framed with fine turned mouldings, resting on well-carved gadrooned bun feet. The rich, well-figured mahogany displays a fine patina, enhanced by the crisp detailing and strong proportions. A striking piece of Regency furniture that combines both style and practicality. Possibly by Gillows of Lancaster. Lee lock with period loop key.
