Società Anonima Cristalleria Murano-Milano, c.1933. This glass factory, with large premises on Murano, was founded in 1882 by Baron Raimondo Franchetti. In 1919 the companie located its seat in Milan, and changed name to "Cristalleria Murano". They produced mainly industrial ware, with a special factory in Treviso for scientific glass. In 1929, under patronage of the Istituto Veneto per le piccole industrie e per il lavoro, a glass school was opened, where Napoleone Barovier, a partner and masterblower at Vetreria Artistica Barovier e C. teached practical glass blowing. No doubt Napoleone Barovier was the driving force in the creation of the artistic division the Cristalleria Murano opened on Murano that same year. The company's photografic model catalogue contained about 510 items, a mixture of modern vases, services, figurines and plants. In 1932, Alfredo Barbini was one of their masterblowers. The company became a member of the Ente Nazionale per le Piccole Industrie. As such, they took part in the Esposizione Internazionale di Barcellona in 1929.
