These images illustrate one of Flavio Poli's first innovative post-war series. Though a simple a canne (fused canes) application, Poli personalized the technique by applying multi-layered canes. The colours which were used for this series -pesco, laguna and giada- were obtained by enclosing a dense colour (respectively red, blue or green) between two thin layeres of opal glass. The resulting diaphanous colour was covered with a translucent opalescent cover and finally embedded in colourless glass. The series was presented at the VIII Triennale di Milano in 1947 and at the XXIV Biennale di Venezia in 1948.
