Beautiful Golden-Blond Mahogany Cabinet

 

From the Louis XVI period, around 1775.
The wood has been expertly French polished ( politour) — a time-consuming and costly technique in which shellac is meticulously applied using a pad in circular motions.
Shellac is a natural product.
This process results in a beautiful deep gloss, making the wood resemble polished mineral.

It is a classicist style, inspired by ancient Roman antiquity.
During this period, Roman antiquity was rediscovered, and wealthy individuals began to travel extensively through Italy to admire its art and architecture —
The Grand Tour.

The lower cabinet features three large drawers that slide smoothly.
The shape is "single curved", straight at the top and elegantly bowed towards the bottom.
The interior is refined and extensive.
Also very practical, with ample storage space.
Multiple shelves and five small drawers, all veneered in red mahogany.
Elegant tapered legs.

The upper part can be taken apart, making the piece easy to transport.
The height to the cornice is 212 cm, and including the central ornament it measures 234 cm.

Concrete kolums with stainless steel fittings and a tabletop of old reused wood in a personal finishing. 

All parts can be assembled and disassembled the whole table comes on a palletbox  of 80x 120 Cm high 150 cm.

Decorated with ebony.

Dutch Renaissance from the first half of the 17th century. (1610-1630)

The locks are both original and even the keys are still there.

In the middle a wide drawer with beautiful carvings and at the bottom another wide drawer.

Beautiful Zeeland ( Sealand-Zealand, New Zealand is named after Dutch Zeeland) cushion cabinet. 
The proportions are typical for Zeeland: quite low and wide.  170 x 170 cm's. 
The hood direct above the doors without a fries is typical for Zeeland. 
Beautiful blond oak - quarter sawn in beautiful contrast with blackened wood. 
Under a wide drawer. 
Great protruding black diamonds in het doors. 
The blackened cushions have the shape of a cut diamond. 
Also borrowed from the classic Italian Renaissance. 
Flanked by a frame of 'robbellijsten' gulfed shape frame. 
Typical also fot Dutch 17th century furniture. 
Beautiful panels in the sides with refined profiles. 

Original lock and key.
Little restoration: the hind legs were restored long ago, with is usually.

Seichour with dragons

A rare carpet from the north of Azerbaijan.
Dragons.
On an indigo blue field (a natural plant-based dye), we see three motifs depicting stylized dragons in a geometric manner.
In the center, double pairs of wings, and from there outward-curving dragons.
A triple border with stars and geometric shapes.
Additionally, in four rectangles, we also find a pattern featuring double, mirrored dragons.

The connoisseur hangs such a carpet on a wall.
Ersari nomad's Bochara

Ersari nomad's Bochara

Beautiful authentic Bochara.
Antique, made at least 100 years ago.
Crafted with wool from their own sheep and dyes they made themselves from local plants.
Knotted on undyed goat hair warp threads.
The octagonal shapes are called ‘Guls’.
Each tribe has or had its own distinctive Gul symbol.
This red is very beautiful, rather soft in tone and with 'abrash' – the variation in color you can see.
You don’t see one flat, uniform color but rather a hundred subtle nuances – the charm of handmade work.
Nicely worn condition. No holes.

These carpets were traditionally made by Ersari nomads.
They lived on the grasslands in Turkmenistan, between northern Afghanistan and Uzbekistan.
These carpets are often attributed to Afghanistan, but as you can see above, that was only a small part of this people.
Bochara is the capital of Uzbekistan, the place along the Silk Road where these nomads sold their carpets – hence the name.

Beautiful quarter-sawn panels.

The hood and the foot are equally heavy and beautifully profiled.

The side posts and the centre needle have beautiful deep fluting.

Beautiful balanced proportions.

Beautiful example of early Dutch Renaissance.

 

Beautiful interior in a beautiful colour with a deep patina.

Later, two shallower shelves and two drawers were added.

The drawers are fitted with green felt as cutlery drawers.
