England c.1880s This exceptional table garniture exemplifies the opulent aesthetic of late Victorian decorative arts. The ensemble comprises three large candelabra, a central centerpiece, and six matching tazzas (coupes), each finely executed in silver-plated bronze with cut crystal dishes. Female Articulated wooden artist mannequin.

Female Articulated wooden artist mannequin.

An early 20th-century articulated wooden female artist’s lay figure, finely carved and jointed throughout. The figure is constructed from richly patinated walnut with a deep, warm tone, showing signs of age and handling consistent with use. Its simplified yet anatomically proportionate form features well-defined torso curvature and articulated joints at the neck, shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips, knees, and ankles, allowing for a wide range of posing. The head and limbs are smoothly turned, with subtle hand and foot shaping. Such lay figures were traditionally used by artists and sculptors as adjustable models for studying human proportion, anatomy, and pose before the widespread availability of photographic reference. This example, distinctly feminine in form, reflects both the artistry and practicality of 19th and early 20th century studio tools. Dimensions: H60 cm / 23.62 inch.
